Daniel Garay

Percussion

Born in Bilbao, he studied piano and transverse flute to finally dedicate himself to percussion. At the same time, as a member of the choir of the Bilbao Choral Society conservatory, he participates in operas, concerts and recordings with masters such as Victor Pablo Pérez, Ros Marbá or Juanjo Mena, among others.

He finished his advanced studies in historical percussion with Pedro Estevan at the Escuela Superior de Música de Barcelona as well as modern drums with David Gómez, Ricardo Cantera and Miguel Benito and classical percussion with Manolo Gallardo, Javier Alonso and Joaquín Carrascosa.

As a percussionist specializing in early music, he is a member or collaborator of ensembles such as Leconcert des Nations, Hesperion XXI, Euskal Barrokensemble, Concerto Copenhagen, Al AyreEspañol, La Ritirata, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Capilla Santa María, Georgian Sinfonietta, ElConcierto Español, Collegium Musicum Madrid, Nereydas, Secretvm, La Galanía, La Fenice and Forma Antiqva among others, with which he has recorded several CDs and offered various programs throughout much of the Spanish and international geography.
